B-COS
At B-COS, we developed a bacterial platform, based on precision fermentation, for the production of high-value molecules chitooligosaccharides (COS) which are nature inspired. With B-COS, we identified and produced highly specific and cost-effective COS-products which can be applied as crop protection agents (Two proof of concepts for tomato plants, several diseases) and biostimulants (drought stress). Our technological platform outperforms competitors in scalability, specificity and product consistency, using engineered bacterial strains as microbial cell factories for specific COS-production. B-COS’ technological innovation will accelerate the path towards customized agriculture in an efficient and cost-effective way.
